FLSA: Part Time/ Seasonal/ Based on party needs

Salary/Hourly Rate: $15.00

Position Summary: The Birthday Party Ambassador is responsible for providing a memorable and educational birthday party experience for young guests choosing to celebrate their birthday at Butterfly Pavilion. To create the best experience possible, Birthday Party Ambassadors are expected to assist with set up and cleanup of the party, as well as support party guests with themed activities and direct them towards any special programming associated with the party.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Lead all functions of birthday party programming including logistics and implementation.
  • Set up and tear down of birthday party rooms.
  • Facilitate party activity and lead party guests to appropriate areas within Butterfly Pavilion exhibits.
  • Keep track of and maintain party schedule with other birthday party ambassadors.
  • Implement all policies written within the birthday party contract and FAQ.
  • Provide world class customer service to all our party guests.
  • Attend or watch required branch meetings or trainings.

Qualifications/Experience:


  • One year's experience working with children aged 1 to 12 years old.
  • An outgoing, friendly, enthusiastic, and creative personality.
  • A strong interest in education and willingness to adhere to Butterfly Pavilion's education framework.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly dependable and flexible.
  • Willing to handle animals (*Additional training for this will occur on the job).

Additional Requirements:


  • Interest in pursuing a degree in education, environmental sciences, or a related STEM or STEAM field
  • Have taken classes in environmental sciences, STEM or STEAM fields in high school
  • Interest in birthday party logistics

The employee is occasionally required to reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Employee should be able to lift, carry and items up to 50 lbs.
